There’s a crisp feel to the air, summer is slipping away, and we’re gearing up for pumpkins, apples and fun!! Check out some of the fall festivals happening around Ohio this October.
Hocking Valley Scenic Railway Fall Foliage Tours & Halloween “Boo” Train
The Hocking Valley Scenic Railway has special train trips all year long. In October, you’ll be able to take in the fall foliage on a scenic two-hour ride or take a seat on the “Boo” Train, where Halloween costumes are encouraged on this 7-mile trip along the Hocking Valley.
Looking to take in ALL THE FALL things? Gather up the family and head to Pigeo n Roost Farms. There you’ll find giant slides, mazes, a fort, and pumpkins on display.
Go back in time to 18th Century Williamsburg at the Colonial Williamsburg Festival in Wooster. This free event features craftsmanship demonstrations, including potters, wood carvers, and candlemakers as well as activities for the kids.
The Circleville Pumpkin Show runs October 18-21. This free festival is packed with amusement rides, games, parades, arts & crafts, and plenty of FOOD.
Celebrate your real or imagined German heritage in Grove City, October 7th. Live entertainment, games and German-themed food will be there for you and the family to enjoy.
Take in glowing, carved pumpkins along walking paths, check out Scarecrow Row, and enjoy live music at the Great Pumpkin Glow in Mansfield, Ohio. There’s also a Kid’s Carnival area to make this a night for the whole family.
If you’re pumpkined out – head to Nelsonville! That’s where you’ll find the Ohio Smoked Meat and Barbecue Festival. You’re sure to find some good grub, since professional competitive BBQ teams from around the world will compete in categories like chicken, pulled pork, pork ribs and beef brisket.
